Programme Outcomes (Psychology)
1
To know the historical developments, basic concepts and terminology and methodological perspectives of psychology as a
science.
2
To know the basics of theories and approaches in psychology, to compare them in terms of similarities and differences, to
know their contributions and critical approaches about them.
3
To describe the psychology’s position in the world of sciences, its basic premises about the cognitive and behavioural
processes that constitute the main subject areas of psychology, its research methods and levels of analysis in comparison to
other disciplines.

To know the subfields of psychology and main subjects of them, basic scientific problems and distinctive research methods of
psychology.
5
To know the developments, research areas, issues and practices in the psychology in Turkey.
6
To know the principles of psychological assessment recognizing frequently used instruments of psychological assessment and
practicing them in basic level.

To know interviewing skills which are used in the fields of psychology in basic level.
8
To develop a number of practice skills in psychology.

To know the ways of reaching current knowledge in psychology and transferring it into practice effectively.

To formulate a research question in any subfields of psychology, to choose and appropriate research method and
measurement technique according to the research question in basic level.

Knowing generally data collection techniques particular to researhes in psychology; practising statistical analysis methods to
data; interpreting and reporting findings in baseline level.

To have awareness required for the acceptance of differences such as age, gender, race, ethnic group, national identity,
religion, sexual orientation, disability and socio-economic status without any prejudice during the psychology practice.

To know the accepted ethical principles and values of psychological researche and practices, putting these into practice in
their own professional life.

To have awareness social facts and problems, and to use the knowledge of psychological research and practice in
understanding and developing solutions for them.
