CEM TÖRENLERİ İLE TİYATRO SANATININ YAPISAL ÖZELLİKLERİNİN
KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI VE YENİ BİR YAKLAŞIM ÖNERİSİ

Bu çalışmada Alevi ibadeti olan Cem törenlerinin tiyatral özellikleri araştırıldı.
Bunun için ilk bölümde Alevi toplumunun oluşumu, tarihi ve yapısı ele alındı. Ardından
Cem törenlerinin kaynakları, düzenleniş amaçları, konuları, tarihsel gelişimi, felsefi
temeli, dinsel anlamı, kültürel yansımaları, sosyal-hukuksal-eğitsel işlevleri araştırıldı.
Bununla birlikte törenlerin içerdiği öğelerin Alevi–Bektaşi belleğindeki soyut ve somut
anlamları da açıklandı. Bu sayede, çok eski çağalara uzanan bir inanç ve kültür birikiminin
çözümlenmesine katkı sağlanmaya çalışıldı. İkinci bölümde ise dramatik sanatların
kaynağı olan dinsel ritüeller ile Cem törenleri arasındaki benzerlikler ortaya kondu.
Sonrasında, Cem törenlerinin dramatik özellikleri detaylı ve somut bir biçimde tiyatral
açıdan incelendi. Bu sayede dini bir ibadet biçimi olan Cem törenlerinin eylem, metin,
seyirci, mekân, oyuncu, yönetmen, kişileştirme, dans, müzik, kostüm, aksesuar gibi
ögelerle yapısal özellikleri tiyatral bir yaklaşım ile değerlendirildi. Tiyatromuzun Cem
törenlerinden yararlanabilmesi için törenlerin yapısal özellikleri incelendi ve tiyatral bir
dille tanımlanmaya çalışıldı. Bu tanımlama sonrasında, tiyatromuzun Cem törenlerinin
yapısal özelliklerinden faydalanarak, özgünleşmesi yolunda öneriler sunuldu. Cem
törenlerinin sosyolojik bir bütünlük içinde incelenebilmesi için nitel araştırma yöntemi
kullanıldı. Geniş ve kapsamlı bir kaynak taraması, incelemesi ve karşılaştırmalar sonrası
hazırlanan çalışma konu üzerine Türk tiyatrosu araştırmaları alanına önemli katkı
sağlamaktadır.

ABSTRACT
COMPARISON OF THE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS OF THE CEM CEREMONIES WITH
THE ART OF THEATER AND A NEW APPROACH PROPOSAL

In this study, the theatrical features of Alevi Cem ceremonies are investigated. In the
first chapter, the, history, structure and formation of the Alevi society are discussed. Then
the sources of the Cem ceremonies, their aims, subjects, historical development,
philosophical foundation, religious meaning, cultural reflections, social, judicial and
educational functions are investigated. Additionally, the abstract and concrete features of
Cem ceremonies within the Alevi-Bektashi memory, are explained. In this way, we tried
to contribute to the analysis of a belief system and culture affluence dating back to ancient
times. In the second part, the similarities between the religious rituals, which are the
source of dramatic arts, and the cem ceremonies are set forth. Then, dramatic features of
Cem ceremonies are theatrically searched in a detailed and concrete manner. In this way,
structural elements of the cem ceremonies, including action, script, audience, space,
performer, director, impersonation, dance, music, costume and props are evaluated
theatrically. Structural features of Cem ceremonies analysed and described in theatrical
language for Turkish theatre to benefit from it. Based on this description, proposals were
made to make use of structural components of Cem ceremonies to create a genuine
theatre of our own. To be able to analyze Cem rituals in its sociological entirety qualitative
research method is employed. With its broad and comprehensive literature review,
research and comparisons, this study will make a significant contribution to the Turkish
theatre research.
