Buprenorfin ne için kullanılır?

What is buprenorphine used for?
Buprenorphine (also known as Subutex®
and Prefibin®) is mainly used to help
people get off opiates such as heroin,
morphine and methadone, and to stay
off. It is made as sub-lingual (under the
tongue) tablets. Suboxone® contains
buprenorphine and naloxone, which will
give withdrawal symptoms if someone
tries to inject it.

What is the usual dose of
buprenorphine?
The usual dose of buprenorphine for
opiate dependence is up to about 16mg a
day.

How and when should I take
buprenorphine?
Place the tablet under your tongue and
allow it to dissolve slowly. This takes
about 5-10 minutes. If the pharmacist
crumbles your dose before you take it
takes less time (around 2-3 minutes). It
doesn’t work if you swallow the tablets as
the buprenorphine is destroyed by acid in
the stomach.

You should not stop buprenorphine
suddenly, because you can and will get
withdrawal symptoms, similar to heroin
withdrawal. These are generally not as
bad as with methadone.

What should I do if I forget to take a
dose of buprenorphine at the right
time?
Take the missed dose as soon as you
remember unless it is within about 10-12
hours of your next dose. If you
remember after this just take the next
dose as normal. Do not try to catch up by
taking two doses at once as you may get
more side-effects.

affects you, be careful about driving or
operating machinery.
